It is important that Postmasters and their teams feel confident when conducting Post Office transactions and processes using Horizon. Over the last year we have been making changes and improvements in response to feedback from around the network and identifying ways to improve the training and support available to Postmasters. As part of this, new classroom course training launched.
However, during the peak of the covid-19 pandemic, all Post Office classroom training paused.
We're pleased we have now re-opened all our Counter Training Offices across the UK.
The following courses are available to book:
- Basic Counter Transactions – full day
- Basic Balancing – full day
- Investigating Discrepancies – half day
The training is available to Postmasters, Branch Managers and members of their branch teams. For further information on the above training and to see the full training catalogue, click here.
We’ve made changes to our normal training routines to ensure delegate safety as best we can. We have also reduced delegate numbers to a maximum of three people per course so that we can maintain social distancing guidelines and we’re putting on more courses to meet demand. Locations for training offices are below.
Maree Young, Head of Postmaster Training and Delivery said: "We received positive feedback on the training when it launched but during the pandemic, we had to cancel any face to face training. We are now fully up and running with three key courses. We know many people will be looking ahead and planning for Christmas so now is a great time to register your interest and attend".
To book any of these classroom-based courses, please email PostmasterTraining@postoffice.co.uk. You’ll need to provide the delegate’s full name, contact telephone number and email, branch name, branch code and the name of the course you wish to attend. You’ll then be contacted by your local trainer to discuss dates and details.
