Today (Thursday 25 July) is day four of the Royal Welsh Show – Europe’s biggest agricultural event – and postmaster Bennie Krige and Post Office colleagues are busy with customers at our mobile branch on site.
We’d already seen more than 350 transactions by Tuesday afternoon.
The show attracts nearly a quarter of a million people across four days.
Bennie, who runs Crickhowell and Ewyas Harold branches and eight outreaches, said: “It’s a chance to experience something different and get the word out about what Post Office can offer. I’m really enjoying it; we’re busy and it’s great to speak to new customers.”
Retail Director Amanda Jones joined the team on Monday. “I wanted to see the mobile Post Office in action and look at the benefits of being at events like that,” said Amanda.
“Customers loved the fact that there was a fully operational Post Office there. All the major High Street banks were present, but only one had an ATM, so it was a great opportunity to let people know they can bank at the Post Office counter, and lots of customers came to us to withdraw cash.
“Many traders came in to post orders and we were able to talk to them about Drop & Go. We were getting a lot of business from visitors and exhibitors alike. A huge thank you to Bennie and everyone involved in making this – our first such event for several years – a big success.”
