Today Royal Mail launch a TV advert, part of their campaign to promote their Click & Drop service. This will screen on Friday night on ITV.
Awareness of online solutions provided by competitors like MyHermes and DPD is growing. Royal Mail’s campaign addresses customer demand for online and raises awareness of Click & Drop which introduces new customers to the Royal Mail and Post Office network.
Our personal contact differentiates us, and the support and expert advice Postmasters give remains important and valued by customers. Thousands of Postmasters demonstrate everyday why branch is best and continue to offer the best customer experience. A recent report by Public First shows 43% of small businesses say they would not be able to continue functioning without us.
Postmasters have been telling us more customers are visiting branches and our network performance shows we’ve had one of our busiest weeks this year, with volumes nearly 30% up on last year. The biggest increase is from customers sending high volumes of items – which have increased 71% compared to last year. Our Drop & Go service remains popular. We’re seeing increasing numbers of customers signing up and spend is up 88% compared to last year.
This is fantastic performance is it’s down to the service Postmasters provide. We continue to be best placed to help these customers as we have the network to be local to customers, there are no limits on number of items they can bring in and customers can come when it’s convenient for them.
TV advertising can be expensive, and can cost up to £2million to produce and broadcast, though we understand the importance of promoting products and services at this time of year. We’re here to help you promote locally to your communities, for example by creating ready-made social media posts which can be shared through our We Are Post Office app in addition to branch marketing.
If you are considering making your own advert, would like marketing support, or have a social media post suggestion, please contact your Area Manager.
