DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal
Responding to the situation in Ukraine, the Disasters Emergency Committee has launched an appeal to raise funds to provide for people fleeing conflict with food, water, medical assistance, protection and trauma care.
As a partner to the DEC, Post Office is supporting this appeal by accepting donations across all Post Office counters through Horizon.
The appeal will be promoted across a range of channels including TV, media and social and Post Office will be supporting through our own channels too.
At present, we are not able to support with sending donations of goods to the affected area. Aid agencies are providing supplies on the ground – if customers would like to support, the best thing they can do is donate cash to help these well-established organisations carry out their work.
Spread the word
Branches can promote the appeal in the following ways:
- Poster: print and display one of these posters to show you are supporting the appeal and accepting donations in your branch
- Social media: images will be available through WeArePostOffice app, so you can show your support to your online communities
Donations can be accepted through Horizon by following this process:
- F3 Banking
- F8 Charitable Donations
- 22 Charitable Donations
- 62 Disasters Emergency Committee
Please note – we are aware of an issue impacting contactless mobile phone payment for donations to the DEC on Horizon. Please advise customers that we can only accept cash or chip and pin payments before adding the transaction to the basket, as it cannot be removed.
Customers can also post a cheque made out to ‘DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal’, to DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, PO Box 999, London EC3A 3AA.
The campaign will run for 14 days through to 23:59 Wednesday 16 March 2022, but the appeal will remain open for donations beyond this for at least 6 months.
