The app allows customers to manage their Travel Money Card account 24/7, from anywhere in the world. Around 800 customers sign up to the app per day, which was created to offer customers ease and convenience through a user-friendly mobile application designed to meet their travel needs.
Approximately 533,000 customers have linked their Travel Money Card (TMC) via the app. We know that, overall, our customers spend money on Travel Money Cards every three seconds. Since launch, over 700,000 Post Office Travel Money Cards have been sold in branch, which is over 80% of the total number of Travel Money Cards sold.
Don’t forget that you continue to receive remuneration on subsequent top ups across all channels on the Travel Money Cards you have sold. If you promote the mobile app, you’ll see the benefit, as an average customer tops up at least 1.5 times in the first year alone.
The app is available for free on iOS and Android devices, and it receives circa 16,000 unique visitors each day. As well as providing a range of essential travel services, the app also provides customers with access to additional tools such as Branch Finder and ATM Finder.
We are now working on getting the TMC added to digital wallets. This means that customers would be able to use their card to make purchases through their mobile devices via Apple & Google Pay. Once implemented, the feature will also include notifications of spend via the wallet.
