Last week saw the Post Office Travel app scoop up an award for Mobile Speed to Market at the annual OutSystems NextStep conference.
Customer Hub colleagues travelled to Amsterdam to attend and present at the event - focused on digital transformation and low-code development – both key elements involved in building our Customer Hub.
Jeff Smyth, Financial Services & Telecoms CIO, Henk Van Hulle, Business Innovation Director, and Ray Panditharatna, Customer Hub Solution Architect, shared how we are digitising our 350 year old business with an audience of thousands, many going through their own digital transformation.
The team were able to showcase demos of the Travel app and proof of concepts for both Mails and Identity, generating a great deal of interest, conversation, and debate. Having observed numerous presentations, event hosts OutSystems presented Post Office with the award for ‘Mobile Speed to Market’ - a fantastic achievement for the first app delivered by the Customer Hub team.
“In just four months, the UK Post Office developed and released an innovative business-to-consumer mobile app for their travel money and insurance products. This was the first native mobile app the Post Office built and their newly formed agile development team also had to integrate with legacy systems managed by third parties.
“With OutSystems, the Post Office created the foundation for their future digital strategy, one that will create digital channels and new revenue streams leveraging their unique network of 11,500 retail outlets in the UK.”
Post Office Travel is now award winning, adding to other key achievements and milestones to date. The team are currently developing a Mails app - watch this space for more details coming soon.
