Feeling hot, hot, hot! Choice of free gifts with summer Travel Insurance

With summer just a few rays away, our summer Travel Essentials campaign is also starting to sizzle. This year’s summer Travel Insurance offer arrives in branch tomorrow (Saturday 1 June 2019), which provides you with the opportunity to give our customers a choice of free gifts.

We know someone buys Post Office Travel Insurance every 44 seconds, and since launch, we’ve paid a whopping £150m in travel insurance claims from 2007 to 2018.

Our exclusive offer is available from this weekend, through to 29 September 2019.

To qualify, all our customers need to do is one of the following:

  • Buy Travel Money in branch or online
  • Buy an International Driving Permit in branch
  • Buy our Passport Check and Send service in branch

NOW FOR THE GOOD BIT

  • We’ll then give them a one-off promotional code to use if they buy their Travel Insurance either in branch, online or by phoning 0300 123 3690
  • This code entitles them to a choice of either a £10 Amazon gift card for any last-minute holiday buys or Hawaiian Tropic sun cream worth the equivalent of up to £33 RRP, posted directly to them.

 

Chief Marketing Officer Emma Springham said: “We do around 75% of our total annual Post Office Travel Insurance business during the summer. It’s the product that no-one wants, but it’s the one our customers are most grateful for, should they need to use it.

“This year, I’m really pleased that we’re delivering a fresh new customer incentive. Both of these offers proved really popular in our customer focus groups. You should have already received Travel Insurance voucher cards and Ts&Cs laminates to use in branch and your summer Travel Essentials point-of-sale materials will be arriving over the next few weeks.

“We recognise the very important role you, our postmasters, play in making our summer travel campaign a success. Remember, even if the sale isn’t made in branch, you can still be credited for online and telephone sales if customers let us know your branch code.”

Policy changes:

From 1 June, we’re offering 3 levels of cover on our Travel Insurance – Economy, Standard and Premier – while our Super Economy and Premier Plus levels are being withdrawn.

Having conducted some research of the Travel Insurance market, we were the only provider offering five levels of cover on one product. By reducing the choice of down to just three levels of cover, we found that our sales rate should increase by 10%.
