Spreading the word about our Apprenticeship Scheme

Spreading the word about our Apprenticeship Scheme

If you happened to pass by the careers event held at The Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School in Derbyshire last Wednesday, you would have found two of our young Post Office apprentices, Chloe Charity and Megan O’Grady talking enthusiastically to parents and students about their experiences of working at the Post Office.

Joanne Edwicker, Branch & Customer Support Team Leader, who travelled to the event with Chloe and Megan, said “They (Chloe and Megan) were instrumental in setting up a really eye-catching display at the school, paired with a superb information leaflet and spoke with confidence when approached by parents and pupils who wanted advice and information about career prospects with the Post Office.

Our apprenticeship program was portrayed in a very favourable light, as a result of the girls both being fully engaged and enthusiastic about why they were there”.

Thank you Chloe and Megan for being such great ambassadors for apprenticeships at the Post Office!

Apprenticeships: Did you know?

  • That apprenticeships aren’t just for those at the beginning of their career? They go all the way From Level 2 (standard GCSE level) apprenticeships in Customer Service to higher and degree level apprenticeships in Law and Finance to Executive MBAs.
  • Apprenticeships come in all shapes and sizes, lasting anywhere from 12 to 72 months.
  • They are a combination of on the job training and study – at least 20% of time will be spent on the job
  • The Post Office pays for apprenticeships via the 2017 apprenticeship levy
  • You can find out more about the apprenticeships we have available at the Post Office here. You can also email us with any questions at apprenticeships@postoffice.co.uk
