We’re delighted to have been recognised this week at the Business Culture Awards, as a ‘Highly Commended’ organisation in the Next Generation category for 2019, for our graduate programme.
In the words of the judges: “Many graduate schemes aim to empower or involve the graduates in the 'real workings' of the organisation, however often can fall short. Post Office have clearly created a culture of listening to, and learning from, the next generation, as much as developing them. It’s brilliant to see the real and immediate impact a next generation programme can have in a large business”.
There was also praise for how in a large organisation like Post Office, there was found to be a real appetite to be current, inclusive and to genuinely prepare the ground for the next generation of leaders in their business.
One of our recent Post Office graduates, Sandy Chandresekara, was one of the attendees at the ceremony and said: “I was proud to be part of the team representing Post Office at these prestigious awards. As a graduate on the scheme over the last year I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to make an impact with my ideas for change, and it felt great to have this recognised publically”.
