We often talk about the importance of customer care at the Post Office, but this heart-warming story demonstrates the difference it can make in a little girl’s life and in the wider community.
When Lucie-Rae’s hamster died her mum popped in to Berryden Post Office for some help. Luckily, they had just the right person on hand, counter colleague Laura Robertson, to deal with the sensitive customer request.

At the time of writing the video has reached over 7,000 people and had nearly 4,000 engagements.
Manager Sal Ahmad said, “Social media is a powerful tool that anyone can use to promote their business, and at Berryden Post Office we use our Facebook page as an additional channel for our customers to keep in touch and give genuine feedback on our performance”.
This has translated to lots of positive comments and reviews on their Facebook page as well as being a top performing branch in the Voice of the Customer Survey.
Getting involved on social media doesn’t have to take up lots of time and it can be a tool to help find out what your customers really want. More than this, the Generation Z customers of tomorrow are more loyal to the brands they follow on social media, while 60% of 25 – 34 year olds favour the businesses they follow on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
For ideas and pictures you can download and share on Facebook and Twitter in the run up to Black Friday.
Thank you to all involved at Berryden Post Office for sharing this story and RIP Charlie!
