Did you know Post Office can fund 100 per cent of the training fees for a limited number of apprentices? If you’re a postmaster looking to take on an apprentice, or if you think you or your employees could benefit from taking an apprenticeship to support career development, you could benefit from this funding.
And from April 2019, we’ll potentially be able to fund training for even more apprentices as the Government is increasing the amount of the annual apprenticeship levy that can be used for this, which means we will have a bigger funding pot available for this.
Apprenticeships are no longer just aimed at school leavers. Many people, whatever stage they are at in their careers, are undertaking this type of development. Apprenticeships have evolved and are now much more suited to the modern economy, workplace and employee.
For example, counter colleagues could benefit from a Customer Service apprenticeship to support their career development. Postmasters/branch managers might be interested in a Retail Team Leader apprenticeship, while a Retail Manager apprenticeship could suit more experienced retailers.
Employers still need to pay the employee’s salary while they are completing their apprenticeship, but you could get the cost of the training itself covered by Post Office.
If you’d like to find out more about the funding available from Post Office and whether it’s suitable for your branch, please contact our apprenticeship team at firstname.lastname@example.org letting us know your name and contact number, the name of the branch and just a couple of lines about the apprenticeship you have in mind. We’ll then be in touch to discuss it in more detail.
Please note this particular funding is only for employers and their employees in England as the apprenticeship training funding offered by the devolved administrations is slightly different. You can find more information about that here:
