Over the last few months we’ve talked a lot about our strategy and our increased focus on doing things that matter to customers. Our customers come from all walks of life, and are diverse on their cultural backgrounds, age groups, and gender.
As a business we want to embrace and celebrate the diversity of our customers and make sure we do the things that are important. Thanks to colleagues such as Farida Iqbal in our Network Transformation team, we are able to do just that.
Millions of Muslims around the world will celebrate Eid al-Fitr this week on Friday 15 June and Eid al-Adha falling on Wednesday 22nd August. Eid al - Fitr is an important as it marks the end of Ramadan.
Colleagues including Farida, and many branch teams and postmasters will be holding Eid celebrations with their loved ones. The celebrations usually begin with early morning prayers. The rest of the day is dedicated to spending time with friends and family. Gifts are exchanged, and feasting ensues during daylight hours for the first time since before Ramadan.
To help our customers celebrate Eid this year, we have launched celebratory Limited Edition Eid gift card.
Farida suggested the Eid gift card idea to the Managing Director at One4all gift card who was intrigued. He soon came up with some solutions on how to bring Farida’s idea to life.
Today, the Eid gift card is sale in over 150 branches, including online.
Farida said: “I am so pleased that Alan Smith, Shelly Merrick, and the Agency Sales teams have supported production and sale of an Eid themed gift card. It’s great that as a business we are able to respond quickly to opportunities and test the water, by connecting with our customers in ways that are meaningful to them. I am thrilled that here at Post Office, creativity and innovation are actively encouraged. It will be great to hear the feedback from Postmasters and customers, and to learn and build on that. There are lots of other ways we can connect with our customers, through the products we offer, which represents a great opportunity to be even more relevant tomorrow than we are today. ”
Eid Mubarak to all colleagues celebrating this important festival!
