Thank you to all the Postmasters who took the time to apply to join the Branch User Forum (BUF).
We planned to widen the membership of the Branch User Forum (BUF), so it serves both yours and the business’ needs more effectively, and to make sure it is truly representative of all branches in communities across the UK. Postmasters were asked to submit applications during a two-week recruitment period which ran from 9-20 March 2020.
Now, because of the Covid-19 outbreak and Postmasters’ focus on providing essential services to customers and communities, Post Office has taken the decision to suspend recruitment and reopen it at a later date. All applications received to date will still count when the recruitment drive resumes later this year.
Post Office’s Head of Branch Operations Engagement Team, Katrina Holmes, said: “Thank you to all the Postmasters who have submitted applications. We really do appreciate your interest and enthusiasm in wanting to make Post Office the best it can be for our branches and our customers. We will keep these applications on file and will be in contact with you later in the year.
“Due to the current Coronavirus situation, we are delaying extending the Branch User Forum at this present time. We will review this at a later date. Our intention is to still have a pool of Postmasters in place to rotate with each other to attend meetings, so we can get a wider range of ideas and opinions from different branches around the network.”
The current BUF members are playing an important role in Post Office’s response to the coronavirus outbreak, raising issues from the frontline, as well as discussing and inputting into key operational decisions.
