British Gas is currently emailing and writing to customers about the forthcoming exclusive contract for its over-the-counter bill payments and meter top-ups.
From 1 January, customers who choose to pay over the counter will only be able to use a Post Office or a Payzone location. This will mean around 1.8 million additional customers across both networks, so we could see many more customers coming through the door.
British Gas and Scottish Gas customers can of course already pay their bills and top up at Post Offices and that will continue. There’s no change to the British Gas and Scottish Gas transactions you already do.
