MP Branch Visits Kick off Christmas: In Photos

MPs are starting their visits to Post Office branches up and down the country, which can only mean one thing – Christmas is coming. Through visiting branches MPs can see for themselves the vital role Post Offices play in their local communities, from everyday banking services to collecting and returning Christmas presents bought online.

Leven Post Office

Stephen Gethins (centre), MP for North East Fife, popped into Leven Post Office on Friday 30 November to see the wide range of services available for customers. He said, “It was fantastic to meet the team at Leven Post Office, they provide such a vital service to the community in this area. I know everyone works very hard especially at this time of year and I wanted to thank them for that.”

Wigton Post Office

The Wigton Post Office team welcomed Rory Stewart, MP for Penrith and the Border to their branch on 30 November, too. He said, “I very much enjoyed visiting Wigton Post Office and meeting the team there. It is thanks to their hard work that everyone's Christmas cards and presents are delivered on time. It was great to see the team in action and I wish them every success during this busy period."

Pulteneytown Post Office

Jamie Stone, Member of Parliament for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross kicked off Pulteneytown Post Office’s run up to Christmas with a visit on Friday 30 November. Julie Cassidy from the Pulteneytown People’s Project was also thrilled with the special Christmas visit from her local MP and wanted to thank Jamie Stone for taking time to recognise the valuable role played by the branch in providing vital services to customers within his constituency during the festive season.

Boldmere Post Office

And finally, the countdown to Christmas is also well underway for Boldmere Post Office who were visited by Andrew Mitchell, MP for Sutton Coldfield.

Andrew Mitchell wanted to thank all the staff at the Post Office and acknowledged that “Boldmere Post Office is a most important part of the Boldmere community and I know that they work extremely hard particularly at this time of the year to look after local needs. I am pleased to have visited them today to thank them for all that they do and congratulate them on all their hard work.”
