An official opening ceremony was held at Harringay Post Office on 2 May, following the completion of its transformation by postmaster Rizwan Salahuddin.

The new branch in Green Lanes, London, opened its doors to the public on 18 April. Rizwan has combined a new, dedicated area containing four Post Office serving positions, alongside a retail offer of stationery, gifts and a photo and printing studio.

Rizwan also runs the successful Finsbury Park branch, which opened last year. He said: “I am fully committed to delivering the best possible service to the community and I am delighted that customers are already responding so positively to the new branch – I’d like to thank them for all their support.”

Al Cameron, Post Office Interim CEO, was on hand to cut the ribbon to officially launch the new branch. Al said that the transformation of the branch would help safeguard Post Office services for the area for years to come. “We know how much people rely on their Post Offices, which is why we’re committed to keeping our vital services at the heart of communities.

“The new Harringay Post Office, is part of our plan to maintain Post Offices branches long into the future, and I’m very pleased to be here today to officially open the branch and see first hand the new, modern Post Office.”
