Branch design: new Ellen Way branch

Last week, we shared some information on a branch design pilot we are testing with six branches opening across the UK in the next few months. Reviewing and implementing new branch designs is something all retailers test every few years - you can read more information about our pilot here.

The first branch with the new designs opened last week in Braintree, Essex. See photos of the branch with the pilot designs further below.

James Cleverly MP for Braintree joined Priti and Dinesh Patel, who have run the convenience store at Costcutter for the official opening. Councillor Tom Cunningham, who is a local and parish councillor and Great Notley Parish councillor David Arthur, also joined in a community celebration. Here’s a short video the MP shared on Twitter.

The branch offers customers an impressive 98 hours of Post Office service a week, making it very convenient for customers to visit.

James Cleverly MP, said: “This new Post Office, which is open daily making it very easy to visit Ellen Way Post Office. This is a great additional way that Priti and Dinesh Patel can meet the needs of the Whitecourt community.”

Postmaster Priti Patel, said: “The community is very happy and excited about having a Post Office. We are getting Post Office customers from early until late, seven days a week. People are finding the opening hours are very convenient and there is lots of parking.”

The new branch aims to offer even more convenience to Post Office customers by extending the availability of Post Offices services in the area. The new branch joins Masefield Road, Braintree and Black Notley branches in bringing vital services to the area.
