Bellingham’s Christmas countdown starts with MP visit

In one of the first MP visits of the season, Guy Opperman, Member of Parliament for Hexham, popped into Bellingham Post Office, Hexham, in Northumberland, to recognise the valuable role the branch will play in providing vital services to customers in his constituency over the festive season.

With the big day fast approaching, the Bellingham Post Office team were delighted to welcome their special visitor. It gave them the ideal opportunity to showcase the wide range of Post Office services available for customers at the branch this Christmas.

By visiting branches, they can see in person the excellent customer service by postmasters and the increase in people using us for their banking, access to cash and bill payments along with the popularity of mails and home shopping returns, all helping make sure the Post Office matters even more tomorrow than it does today.

Guy Opperman, MP for Hexham, said: “It was fantastic to meet the team at Bellingham Post Office today, they provide such a vital service to the community in this area. I wish them every success for the future and especially during this busy period.”

Postmaster Kate Jameson was thrilled with the special Christmas visit from her local MP. She commented: “The Christmas countdown is well underway here at Bellingham Post Office and we were delighted that Guy Opperman MP took time out from his busy schedule to pop in and recognise the valuable service we provide every day to the local community.”
