East Africa crisis – how to help

A Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) fundraising appeal to help those affected by the humanitarian crisis in East Africa airs on all major TV channels from today (15 March), and we’ve made it easy for people to do their bit by taking donations at all our branches.

More than 16 million people in East Africa are facing devastating food shortages caused by sustained drought and conflicts in South Sudan, Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia.

UK aid charities are already on the ground working with affected communities, but the situation is critical and getting worse. That’s why leading UK aid charities have launched the fundraising appeal to help those affected by what is fast becoming one of the worst humanitarian crises of this century.

The appeal is airing on all major TV channels including BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and Sky.

What can you do?

We’re taking donations at all our Post Office branches.

Donations can also be made online here.
