The Bank of England is introducing a new polymer £20 banknote on 20 February 2020.
This new banknote, featuring the artist JMW Turner, will be the latest printed to be on polymer, a thin and flexible plastic material.
These new banknotes are be cleaner, safer and stronger than paper notes. Polymer notes also provide enhanced counterfeit resilience and increase the quality of notes in circulation.
The new £20 note has a number of new security features to help minimise counterfeit notes being in circulation – watch the video below.
